Hanoi's Sua flower season heralds summer

Every March, the charming streets of Hanoi come alive with the breathtaking bloom of Sua or Dalbergia Tonkinensis flowers.

The Hanoi Times  Known as the “ city of 12 flower seasons ,” Hanoi celebrates a different flower every month, and March is the enchanting month of the sua flower. This white flower creates a dreamy atmosphere, signaling the end of spring and the arrival of summer.

Locals often say that when the sua  flowers bloom, it’s a sign that spring is nearing its end, and summer is just around the corner. These fleeting flowers, though short-lived, bring a unique, almost magical beauty to the city.

With over 1,400 sua trees scattered throughout the capital, you'll find these stunning flowers adorning the streets of Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Hoa Tham, Phan Chu Trinh, Giang Vo and Thanh Nien.

The white sua flowers add elegance to the cityscape, creating a poetic scene in late spring.

A sense of tranquility.

Sua flowers thrive in Hanoi's sunny spots, growing robustly in areas with rich, fertile soil and high humidity, making spring the perfect time for them to bloom.

The pure, fragile white flowers of the sua tree transform Hanoi into a bright, romantic wonderland.

Stunning flowers adorn many streets.

One of the most picturesque places is the Diplomatic Corps compound on Ho Dac Di Street, Dong Da District, where rows of sua trees are in full bloom, creating a perfect natural landscape.

The sight of these white flowers, which resemble soft cotton clouds, is nothing short of mesmerizing.

As the flowers reach their peak, Hanoi's skies are bathed in white, creating an unforgettable backdrop for anyone visiting during this fleeting season.

For visitors and locals alike, strolling through these streets to admire the sua flowers or to capture the beauty through photography is a must.
