Hanoi organises “18-year-old citizens and the NA election” youth dialogue
The Vietnam National Youth Committee and Hanoi People’s Committee co-chaired a youth dialogue themed “18-year-old citizens and the National Assembly election" in Hanoi on March 29.
The dialogue was to celebrate the upcoming election of the 14th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 tenure.
Attending the dialogue were President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy, and more than 400 young constituents living in the capital city.
The event aims to increase young people’s awareness of the importance of the election and encourage them to vote.
At the dialogue, President Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the election of the 14th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 tenure are the great events of the country and nation.
President Nhan stressed the role of young people in electing those most qualified for the legislature.
Young people should preserve their patriotism by choosing the most capable and moral candidates who are capable to lead the country, he said.
At the meeting, Dr. Doan Huong called on each young individual to be responsible for the nation and pay more attention to the country’s socio-political issues.
At the dialogue, young voters were introduced about the law on the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.
