The annual event, organised at the outset of the lunar New Year, is a tradition initiated by the late President Ho Chi Minh in 1960, Secretary Khoi added.
He said that the tradition, eagerly joined by different localities across the city, has contributed significantly to protecting the environment and handling impacts of the climat change.
Hoan Kiem district’s each cadre, Party member and resident always responds positively to the good tradition, with the practical works of maintaining urban order and environmental hygiene in order to build  a greener, cleaner, more beautiful, elegant and civilised district, which is worthy of the centre one of Hanoi capital, the Hoan Kiem district’s Secretary stressed.
