Hanoi Party Secretary extends greetings on Buddha’s birthday

On the occasion of Lord Buddha’s 2559th birth anniversary, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi visited the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) headquarters in Hanoi on May 27.

On behalf of the municipal leaders and people, Secretary Nghi extended their best wishes to the VBS and Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers.

He stressed contributions of the VBS and its Hanoi chapter as well as Buddhist followers over the past years to the municipal socio-economic development. 
He said he hopes that the VBS will continue contributing to the city’s development. 
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Vice Chairman of the VBS, thanked Hanoi's authorities for their support for the VBS’s activities. 
The Most Venerable confirmed that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha will continue to promote the national unity tradition and organize practical activities in order to accompany with the national development.
