Hanoi planning three new towns in outskirts

The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee has just enacted decisions approving the general planning of three new towns in the city’s outskirts – Tay Dang in Ba Vi district, Van Dinh in Ung Hoa district, and Ni in Soc Son district.

Accordingly, Tay Dang will be located in the northwest of Hanoi, along national highway 32. The town will span 1,217 hectares and will accommodate around 18,000 residents by 2030.

Hanoi management authorities envisage turning Tay Dang into an administrative, political, economic, culture and tourist centre of Ba Vi district.

Van Dinh town, located in the southwest of Hanoi, is expected to become the same kind of centre for Ung Hoa district. Its planned area is 560 hectares with a population of around 17,500.

Notably, efforts are underway to develop the North Van Dinh Industrial Zone along national highway 21B.

The planning of a residential and commercial centre has been green-lighted and the town’s major canal, Tan Phuong, is being expanded.

Ni town, a northern gateway to suburban Soc Son district, will cover more than 204 hectares and will be home to around 19,320 people by 2030.

As per the plan, Ni town will also be a multi-function centre of Trung Gia and Hong Ky communes, and a service centre to support social and economic development in the northern part of Soc Son district.
