Hanoi will develop a detailed upgrade plan, which will be finalized in January 2025.

Hanoi plans to upgrade iHaNoi - the digital citizen application of the capital - in 2025-2026 to establish iHaNoi as the city's primary social networking application and better serve residents and businesses.

Accordingly, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the city will develop a plan and secure funding for the drive. In the first quarter of 2025, Hanoi will prepare a higher information security framework for the platform to be submitted for approval while selecting service providers.
The upgrade aims to achieve six key objectives including ensuring that 100% of residents aged 15 and older having a mobile phone can access the application; prioritizing timely processing of all citizen feedback; increasing iHaNoi proficiency; achieving a minimum 30% annual growth in users; ensuring complete data security for users; and integrating at least 30% of services with AI to support management and operations.
The app offers various services and utilities for residents and businesses, including real-time reporting, online public services, a dialog portal for businesses, an automated Q&A hotline (integrated with AI), citizen petition processing, and public safety alerts.
Other features are related to healthcare, education, transportation, and environmental monitoring to improve services.
The Hanoi People's Committee reported that since its launch three months ago, the iHaNoi application has over 1.1 million registered users and has been accessed more than nine million times.
In the remaining months of 2024, the local government plans to add more features to the app, including bus tracking, parking maps, a chatbot, an online payment system, and a platform for submitting complaints and suggestions.
