Hanoi police have made significant contributions to ensuring the security and activities of Party and State leaders and international delegations in the capital city

Hanoi police have been awarded the Vietnamese Government’s Feat Order for its great contribution to ensuring security and social order.

Speaking at the ceremony that was held on January 6 to review its operation in 2021 and set out tasks for 2022, Minister of Public Security, General To Lam applauded the force's efforts and achievements in 2021, especially in fulfilling its role of ensuring security and social order, as well as in preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in the capital city.

Lam asked Hanoi police to take the lead in observing guidelines, policies, decrees, and resolutions, which are adopted by the Ministry of Public Security and the municipal authorities, on maintaining national security, ensuring social order, and building a strong police force.

For his part, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said that in the face of challenges in 2021, the armed forces and the people of the capital city focused on effectively implementing the goals of controlling the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring social security, and promoting production and business.

"Hanoi police have made significant contributions to ensuring absolute safety and security during the country’s important political events, as well as activities of Party and State leaders and international delegations. Therefore, Hanoi has remained a safe destination," Anh said.

The force has also actively advised authorities in building and implementing decrees, programs and plans on ensuring social security and order in the capital city, the mayor added.

He also expressed his thanks for the Fatherland Front, functional agencies, and organizations for supporting the Hanoi police force in completing their assignments.

According to a report reviewing the force’s operation throughout 2021, Hanoi police have kept close watch on the situation at home and abroad, so as not to be caught off guard by any incident.

Notably, in 2021, Hanoi’s police force mobilized more than 14,000 officers and policemen to join the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, who were assigned to work with coronavirus response teams and Covid-19 checkpoints at city entrances.

The force has donated nearly 170 tons of food, medical equipment and VND3.9 billion (US$171,693) to disadvantaged people whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.

In 2021, Hanoi police launched an emulation movement with the slogan "Proactivity - Setting an example - Discipline - Responsibility - Efficiency" and many other special movements and competitions.
