Hanoi Police received hybrid cars to fight crime and pollution

The Japanese Government presented 44 hybrid cars to the Hanoi Police Department at a ceremony held in Hanoi on March 21.

Speaking at the handover, Hanoi Police Director, Major General Nguyen Duc Chung, expressed his gratitude for Japan’s support of his force as they look to complete their tasks and reduce environmental pollution in the capital.
Over 500 million JPY (4.2 million USD) in Japanese Government aid has been provided to Hanoi Police since 2014, covering the purchase of 98 new generation Toyota and Mitsubishi hybrid, plugin-hybrid, electric and clean diesel cars.
An additional 42 cars will be presented to the Hanoi Police Department in 2015.
The police are coordinating with the Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) to utilise the aid in a timely and efficient manner.
