Hanoi police urged to become an elite and modern force

Hanoi police will make efforts to promote the tradition of being worthy of the title “Heroic Police in the Capital City”.

Hanoi police must focus on the target of becoming an elite and modern revolutionary force, Kinh Te & Do Thi quoted Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue as saying at the Party Congress of the Hanoi Police on August 17.

Mr. Hue emphasized that the city’s police force must be built in a streamlined, strong, mobile and flexible way.

First and foremost, the police force must have political strength and high fighting spirit, the municipal Party chief said, adding that Hanoi police must be the core force in ensuring security, social order and safety in the city.

In particular, the city's police must actively prevent, attack and suppress crimes and social evils, especially organized crimes, transnational crimes, non-traditional crimes, capital offenses, high-tech and environmental misdemeanors, among others, Mr. Hue noted.

Mr. Hue suggested that the city police force continue to study and renew the advisory work and effectively implement the central directives and resolutions on crime prevention and combat, ensure order and protect the country.

The city's police force also needs to proactively detect, prevent and fight all the hostile forces' conspiracies and plots, and they should not be passive or remain unguarded in any situations, Mr. Hue noted.

In the 2015 - 2020 period, the Hanoi police uncovered 21,844 criminal cases, including 438 serious cases. Compared to the 2010-2015 term, the number of criminal cases was reduced by 5,113.

In terms of directions and goals for the next five-year term, the Hanoi Public Security Party Committee has set the determination to build a force which is strong ideologically and morally.

The Party Committee has also stressed the role, responsibility, the pioneering role and the commitment of setting examples of its members and leaders at all levels.

Especially, the Hanoi Public Security Party Committee will make efforts to promote the tradition of being worthy of the title “Heroic Police in the Capital City”.
