Hanoi President and US Ambassador to Vietnam talk on vision of smart city
Mr Nguyen Duc Chung - President of Hanoi hold a talk with US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius about potential co-operation in building up smart city.
US Ambassador said that, many US companies were ready to co-operate with Hanoi in development smart city. “We had a chance to diccuss with Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh city about this issue but we still want to make a wide range in co-operation with Hanoi”, Ambassador Osius stressed.
Discussing on smart city, Mr Nguyen Duc Chung said that, Hanoi was now moving toward a model of smart city which provided citizens a convinient public administration. In order to achieve this target, in a past year, Hanoi had set up a common system which connected to 584 communes and departments. More over, Hanoi would make use of information technology (IT) to improve adminitrative procedures and build up e-government. Mr Nguyen Duc Chung highlighted that Hanoi would need the help from leading US IT company to set up a big data center.
Mr Nguyen Duc Chung would like to develop creative start up centers and hope that the US Ambassador could help to connect Hanoi and other US cities, especially Boston - the 2nd start up city in US.
Mr Ted Osius was so glad to watch the progress of Hanoi, which he called his 2nd homeland in these years and believed that Hanoi would develop more and more in future. He was verly glad to make a contribution to development of this city.
