Hanoi promotes Vietnam-India relations

Members of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Hanoi are those who hold high positions in different sectors, including venerable, officials, scholars, lecturers, businesspersons, and artist.

Members of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Hanoi are making efforts to contribute to enhancing the relations between the two nations.

Specific activities will include expanding relations with friendship associations, organizations, and individuals in New Delhi while promoting economic ties and seeking cooperation opportunities among Vietnam and India enterprises, the plan was shared at the 5th Congress of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Hanoi held on August 4.

The event is aimed to set missions for the association in the 2022-2027 period.

Speaking at the event, Phan Lan Tu, Chairwoman of the association for the 2022-2027 term, said by the given tasks set for the next five years, the organization will try to hold activities in the city to provide a better understanding of India among Hanoians, thus connecting more people of both sides.

At the event, a group of 27 members of the association were elected, including those who hold high positions in different sectors regarding information and communications, media, universities, research institutes, theaters, and venerable, historians, businessespeople, artists, scholars, lecturers, among others.

Chairman of the association is former Director of the Hanoi’s Department of Information and Communications.

Tran Thi Phuong, deputy head of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO), said the association should focus on disseminating Vietnam-Indian relations for further mutual understanding between the two counries; cooperating with the Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Swami Vivekananda Center in hosting activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-India relations and the 75th Year of Independence Day of India or Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. At the same time, it’s tasked with expanding relations with organizations in India while boosting cooperation in economics, culture, education, and tourism.
