Hanoi ready to host first edition of Miss Multicultural World

Hosting the competition is seen as an opportunity for Hanoi to promote its image and demonstrate its capacity to hold world-class beauty events.

THE HANOI TIMES Miss Multicultural World 2026, a beauty pageant placing culture at the core of its values to honor the sustainable beauty of Vietnamese women and women worldwide, will be held in Hanoi for the first time.

According to Phan Kim Oanh, President and Founder of the competition, the international beauty pageant aims to honor the diversity of cultures where contestants are judged on their beauty, communication skills, talent and their knowledge on the cultural values of the country they represent.

The contest will also highlight the diversity of identities, personality and the social roles of women in the context of globalization.

Hanoi will also host the Miss Vietnam Culture 2026 with the final night slated for April 5. This competition is designated as the official selection round to seek a Vietnamese representative to Miss Multicultural World 2026.

The winner of Miss Vietnam Culture 2026 will compete in Miss Multicultural World at the Ho Guom Opera House on June 28, and the first runner-up will partake in Miss Eco International 2026 in Egypt in May.

For Miss Vietnam Culture 2026, the organizers have expanded eligibility to unmarried contestants aged between 17 and 33. The contestants will take part in a series of activities, including competitions and cultural exchanges, before entering the final night.

The jury of the competition includes many prestigious artists and experts, including People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien, People's Artist Tran Nhuong, People's Artist Trung Hieu, People's Artist Nguyen Hai, Meritorious Artist Tien Quang and Meritorious Artist Do Ky.

Miss Multicultural World has attracted registrations from representatives of more than 30 countries. It is expected to welcome around 50 countries and territories, including Japan, the US, India, Myanmar, Liberia, the Philippines, Singapore, Nepal, Mexico, South Korea, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Indonesia.

“I hope to develop pageants with a clear orientation that promote positive lifestyles and sustainable values, recognize women's roles in the family and society,” said Oanh.

She will serve as both head of the Organizing Committee and chair of the jury for the competitions. She was crowned Mrs Grand International 2022 and is the first beauty queen in Vietnam to hold her title for two consecutive terms.

Oanh will keep taking charge of other beauty contests for women from 20 to 45 years old, such as Mrs Grand Vietnam and Mrs Earth Vietnam, aimed at honoring the role, intellect and social contributions of modern women.
