Hanoi has welcomed more than 2.58 million foreign visitors by far this year, up 12.2% compared to last year’s figure.

The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the visitors mostly came from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the US and France.
With its increasing image and prestige, Hanoi has become one of attractive destinations for tourists in recent times.
In addition to its promotional campaigns overseas, it has designed a string of new products and improved local tourism infrastructure facilities.
Hanoi has been listed one of the top ten Asian tourism destinations in 2013 by Smart Travel Asia and placed 8th among 10 tourism destinations in the world by Website TripAdvisor. Hanoi came third in Asia after Kathmandu in Nepal and Sapporo in Japan.
The number of domestic tourists to Hanoi has risen 11.3% to 14 million people by far compared to a year earlier.
