Hanoi Tourism Department has recently restored the hotline with phone number 0941.33.66.77 to receive information from tourists throught all day.
Director of the municipal Tourism Deparrtment Do Dinh Hong said on January 27, in 2015, the number of international visitors to Hanoi reached 3.4 million arrivals, up 12% compared to the same period in 2014. The city's tourism sector received 16, 4 million domestic visitors, an increase of 6% in the comparison the same period a year ago.
The total number of tourists to the capital was estimated at 19.8 million arrivals, up 7%. Hanoi's tourism revenue reached 55.5 billion VND, up 11.4% over the same period of 2014. The share of international visitors to Hanoi has been growing significantly, from the rate accounting for 30% of the country in the 2000-2010 period, increased by 38% in 2015.
In 2016, the city's tourism sector targets to continue turning the capital of Hanoi into a safe, friendly, qualified and attractive destination.
Hanoi strives to welcome 21.2 million passengers, an increase of 6.95% compared with 2015, receiving 3.8 million foreign visitors, up 12.1% and 17.4 million domestic tourists, up 5.9% against last year.
Revenues from tourism is targeted to reach 60.1 billion VND, up 8.1% in the comparison to 2015.
In 2016, the tourism sector will focus on attracting and diversifying resources for investment, development and improvement of unique tourism products.
The city's tourism department will actively collaborate with the municipal Public Security and the People's Committees of districts, towns implementing measures to eliminate the forcing tourists to purchase.
The department will upgrade and effectively use the combination of tourism information booths and the hotline supporting tourists to the city.
In addition, the tourism sector will organise promotional activities, major events to attract tourists such as Vietnam - Hanoi international tourism fair 2016, Hanoi tourism and traditional villages festival 2016, the "Memories of Hanoi" programme.
