At the invitation of Seoul`s Council, Korea, Hanoi delegation led by Nguyen Ngoc Tuan - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People`s Council has paid a working visited to Seoul, South Korea from August 17 - 21 and has collaborated with the organizer for the program of "Hanoi Days in Seoul 2016" to celebrate 20 years of cooperation between Hanoi and Seoul (1996 - 2016).

While working in Korea, Hanoi's delegation had a meeting and worked with Mr. Yang Jun-Yook, Seoul City Council's Chairman and Mr. Liu He Gyoung-gee, First Deputy Mayor of Seoul City. At the working session, the two sides have defined focus and direction for development cooperation in the coming phase, especially to promote cooperation in such areas as e-government, investment - trade - tourism promotion, urban management, environment, arts and culture, education. On that basis, expressing the intention to celebrate 20 years of Hanoi - Seoul partnership, the two sides may sign cooperation documents for the new period on the occasion of the Council delegation and the Seoul City's government to visit Hanoi later this year. The Council leader of Seoul City's government expressed his pleasure at the presence of the Hanoi delegation in Seoul and Seoul confirmed that Hanoi is one of the key partners that Seoul wants to maintain and develop cooperation in various fields.
At Cheonggye Square, on August 18 evening, the opening ceremony for "Hanoi Days in Seoul 2016" was launched with dance, theater and musical performances with ethnic traditional culture of Hanoi, leaving a profound impression for hundreds of people attended. This is one of the major activities of Hanoi toward the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea in general and 20 years of friendly relations between two cities in particular. The program lasts up to August 21, with many activities, rich content to bring the Korean people an overall picture of a Capital steeped in thousands of years of history and a city for peace is changing into a dynamic development city, a modern city and an attractive destination for tourists and investors.
Within the framework of "Hanoi Days in Seoul 2016", Hanoi People's Committee in collaboration with the Seoul City government, the Embassy of Vietnam in Korea to organize the conference of "Hanoi - Seoul: promoting investment cooperation and development of trade and tourism." At the event, delegates heard an overview of the potential as well as the strong economic development of Hanoi; environment, policy development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, trade and tourism; advantages of investment, trade, tourism and the orientation and measures to attract investment and promote trade cooperation and promote the development of tourism between the two Capitals in particular, the two countries in general. Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy confirmed that "Korea is the leading country for investment, trade and tourism in Hanoi and contributes significantly to the industrial construction, development deals. Hanoi authorities called on and committed to creating the best conditions to support Korean investors and enterprises to strongly explore opportunities, increase investment, business and commercial services, tourism in Hanoi."
