The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has recently issued Plan No.173/KH-SVHTT to implement strategy on developing the city`s cultural industry to 2020, vision to 2030, in order to sustainably develop the cultural industry.

Performance art will reach revenues of around US$ 5 million. 15 to 20 new plays will be written and performed each year for both of traditional and contemporary art. For professional art, there will be 3,500 to 4,000 performances per year.
The Capital will focus on boosting its potentials and strengths, such as movie, performance art, advertisement, handicraft, fashion, cultural tourism, sightseeing and historical site.
Direction will be given to gradually develop architecture, design, fine art, photography and exhibition, and make them the important service sectors which contribute significantly to the social, economic development of the country.
By 2030, it is expected that revenues of sectors under cultural industry will increase rapidly; more jobs will be created, and people’s capacity to enjoy culture activities will be raised.
Up to 10 documentary films, scientific films and cartoons will be produced per year. Performance art will reach revenues of around US$ 8 million.
Over 20 new plays will be developed and performed each year for both of traditional and contemporary art. For professional art, there will be over 4,000 performances per year.
Hanoi will develop the sectors of cultural industry sustainably, comprehensively in diversified way with modern technologies; develop reputable brands of cultural products and services; boost the development of culture, and contribute significantly to the economic growth; make Hanoi the cultural center of Vietnam with a modern culture closely linked to the national identity, of which the culture industry will meet the city’s potentials.
