The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has recently issued Plan No.173/KH-SVHTT to implement strategy on developing the city`s cultural industry to 2020, vision to 2030, in order to sustainably develop the cultural industry.
Under the Plan, the city expects to increase revenues of the cultural industry year by year, create more jobs and improve Hanoians’ capacity to enjoy cultural activities.
It is expected that 4 to 6 documentary films, scientific films and cartoons will be produced pear year. Theaters will be improved and modernized; by 2020, they will have receive 0.8 to 1.2 million arrivals of visitors per year.
Performance art will reach revenues of around US$ 5 million. 15 to 20 new plays will be written and performed each year for both of traditional and contemporary art. For professional art, there will be 3,500 to 4,000 performances per year.
The Capital will focus on boosting its potentials and strengths, such as movie, performance art, advertisement, handicraft, fashion, cultural tourism, sightseeing and historical site.
Direction will be given to gradually develop architecture, design, fine art, photography and exhibition, and make them the important service sectors which contribute significantly to the social, economic development of the country.
