Hanoi will direct and implement tasks and solutions in terms of law construction, improvement and enforcement.

In recent years, Hanoi has focused on legal education to improve people’s law abiding conduct and improve the city’s business environment, Kinh te & Do thi quoted Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh as saying on November 24.

Besides, strengthening law enforcement has made positive contributions to supporting startups, innovation, socio-economic development, job creation and social security, Mr. Ngoc Anh said at a government teleconference on law building and enforcement.

Furthermore, the diversified and modernized legal education has contributed to gradually raising the awareness on law observance of the authorities, officials, Party members and local residents, the mayor added.

He noted that there still exist a number of shortcomings in economic development, planning, construction, management, urban development, environmental protection, among others.

Hanoi will direct and implement tasks and solutions in terms of law construction, improvement and enforcement, the mayor stressed.

For his part, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed the importance of building laws and institutions in order to build a socialist rule of law, which is the foundation for the country to develop sustainably.

PM Phuc underscored the need to keep improving the law-making process, clearly defining both the responsibilities of and coordination among related agencies, as well as attaching great importance to improving the effectiveness of law enforcement bodies.

A report presented at the conference showed that during the 2016-2020 period, the legal system in Vietnam continued to improve both in quantity and quality. During this period, the institutionalization of the Party's guidelines has improved, as well as the improvement of the quality of legal documents. Several legal documents were comprehensively amended and supplemented to adapt to the current situation, especially in terms of the implementation of the 2013 Constitution.
