Hanoi students win big at int'l maths competition

Challenge for Future Mathematicians is an international maths contest for students from primary level to secondary and junior high levels.

At the Challenge for Future Mathematicians (CFM) 2018, all 48 students of the Hanoi delegation have won individual and team prizes, according to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

The department said that Hanoi students bagged seven gold, 16 silver, 20 bronze medals, and consolation prizes in the individual category. Meanwhile, their teamwork brought in one champion.  

The CFM 2018 took place in Bogor, Indonesia from October 27 to 30, with three levels namely primary level for grade 3-4, secondary level for grade 5-6, junior high level for grade 7-8, the department added.

CFM is an international maths contest for students from primary level to secondary and junior high level and has annually been held in alternating countries since 2014.

CFM is organized with the common desire to make learning maths more exciting and challenging. It also gives students the opportunity to interact and explore the cultural diversity of numerous countries around the world.
