Twelve Vietnamese students, all from Hanoi, who entered the 2017 International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) in Singapore have won prizes.
The IMSO 2017 took place in Singapore on November 20-24, themed “Smart, Skilled, and Creative in a Joyful Competition for Excellence.”
It aims to develop elementary school students’ talent and interest in mathematics and science, motivate them to develop their intellectual capacity and skills, and foster friendly international relations.
** Vietnam also won two silver medals at the 11th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) which took place in Phuket, Thailand from November 12-21.
Tran Duc Huy and Nguyen Tien Nhan earned the silver medal while Le Hong Long and Tran Quang Thanh received consolidation prizes mentions.
The first IOAA was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2007 with the participation of 21 countries and territories.
