Hanoi supermarkets mark National Day celebrations with big discounts on Vietnamese goods

Hanoi’s supermarkets are rolling out massive promotions to draw shoppers into the joyful celebration of Vietnam’s 80th National Day.

THE HANOI TIMES — Supermarkets across Hanoi are marking Vietnam’s 80th National Day (September 2) with major promotions, offering up to 50% discounts on thousands of locally made products.

At Co.op Mart, the campaign “Proud of Vietnamese Supermarkets” features discounts on essentials such as cooking oil, ST25 rice, sauces, snacks and beverages.

The “Buy More, Save More” deal offers prices starting from VND2,800 (US$0.1) while the “Shopping Season 2025” program provides discounts of up to 63%, with ready-to-eat dishes like braised red tilapia, chicken wings and steamed shrimp with eggs starting at VND28,900 ($1.1).

Co.op Mart members can also enjoy an 8% cashback on purchases from VND290,000 ($11), plus extra loyalty points under the “Proudly Celebrating 80 Years of National Day” campaign.

Lotte Mart also joins the festive spirit with discounts of up to 50% on necessities like food, dairy, beverages, household items and personal care products, running through September 9.

The program highlights certified “High-Quality Vietnamese Goods”, with discounts of up to 43% on well-known brands such as Vinamilk, Trung Nguyen and Duy Tan.

A Lotte Mart representative said that the supermarket wants to honor the sustainable values brought by Vietnamese enterprises during the country’s growth journey.

Meanwhile, WinMart and WinMart+ have increased stockpiles by 30%-40% to meet holiday demand.

Seasonal items such as beer, beverages, fresh food, spices and vegetables are on promotion with “buy one get one free” and “buy two get one free” offers.

From now until September 2, WinMart+ stores are also offering a special “Proudly Vietnamese” gift box for customers.

The stores are dressed up with the theme color of the national flag, representing the spirit of the 80th National Day celebrations.

According to Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong, Chief Operating Officer of WinCommerce, the WinMart stores will offer thousands of free water bottles for people attending the grand parade commemorating the National Day.

“As a Vietnamese retail brand, we are proud to bring safe, high-quality products to consumers, while also making modern lifestyles more accessible to nearly 100 million Vietnamese, from cities to rural areas,” she said.
