Lotte Mart is rolling out its “Sale Hunt” campaign, offering discounts of 20%-35% on a wide range of products. Tet gift baskets, including gift cards, are discounted by up to 15%, with additional incentives for high-value orders paid in cash or by bank transfer.
The GO! supermarket chain has launched its “Always Low Prices” program, offering discounts of over 30%. As part of the market stabilization program, the retailer has coordinated with suppliers to ensure sufficient supplies of essential goods for the holiday period.
Beyond price cuts, GO! supermarkets are also introducing promotional activities to improve the shopping experience. Until February 14, customers can purchase essential consumer goods at stable prices, with discounts of up to 33% on fresh local and imported meat and fish and up to 28% on fruits and vegetables.
Similarly, Co.opmart is running a promotion until the end of February with over 10,000 lucky envelopes, one million reward points and over 1,000 discounted items.
Meanwhile, WinMart supermarket system is offering big discounts for numerous products up to 50% before Tet, with buy-one-get-one-free and buy-two-get-one-free offers on many fresh foods, dry goods, household items and children's toys; as well as attractive lucky money gifts for customers during the New Year.
According to Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong, WinCommerce Northern Region Operations Director, to meet consumer demand, WinMart worked with suppliers three months before the lunar new year to ensure sufficient goods and stable prices.
"We have been launching two major programs of 'The Flavor of Vietnamese Tet - Full of Taste, Full of Love' and 'Shopping for a Complete Tet - Happy Family Reunion'," said Huong.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Co.opmart supermarket system is launching a series of thank-you offers, most notably the "Offer Handbook - 30 Offers to Welcome Co.opmart's 30 Years" for first-time members. Along with that is the "30th Anniversary Milestone - Co.op-Only Offers" program, reducing the prices of various products such as fruits, pork, beef, fish and confectionery by up to 30%.
Aeon Vietnam is also launching 30%-40% discounts on a wide range of products for Tet.
Ensuring product quality and supplies
According to Vo Nguyen Phong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, market authorities have been monitoring the supply-demand situation at major supermarkets and inspecting key distributors in the city to ensure product quality and supply.
"Suppliers and producers are urged to use hi-tech applications to trace origin and verify information on food safety standards," said Phong.
He noted that for retailers to offer discounts of up to 50%, many have spent months negotiating prices with suppliers and distributors, optimizing operational processes, and cutting unnecessary costs.
Supermarkets have responded to the increased demand for essential goods by working closely with suppliers to increase inventory and maintain reasonable prices.
"They have also intensified quality checks on incoming goods and hired more staff to ensure excellent service. Supermarket shelves are constantly being restocked, especially with fresh food," said the director.
