Hanoi to apply solutions for appropriate development of transport forms

According to the Official Letter No. 5124/VP-DT issued on June 2, the Office of the Hanoi People’s Committee asked relevant departments, sectors, agencies and units to deploy solutions for appropriate development of transport forms in centrally – run cities.



 
Accordingly, implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung in the Official Letter No. 5197/VPCP-CN dated May 22, 2017 of the Government Office on deploying measures for appropriate development of transport forms in centrally – run cities, Ha Noi will establish and approve a planning on transport vehicles to ensure suitability with real local situation in accordance with Clause 1 and Clause 6, Article 6 of the Road Traffic Law; set up and announce a planning on bus stop stations, parking lots, bus transfer points, etc in the area; continue arranging the capital source and directing authorized agencies to complete the building of the scheme assigned by the Prime Minister at the Document No. 148/TTg-KTN dated January 27, 2014.


In addition, the capital city will focus on strengthening development of public transport by buses; improving the quality of services, infrastructure for passenger pick-up and drop-off; applying smart ticket systems to create convenience for passengers; developing buses using clean fuels; enhancing bus network connection to suburban districts and satellite towns; ensuring connection among public bus passenger transport services with inter-provincial passenger transport routes, bus stations and airports; accelerating the urban railway project and appropriately  connecting urban railway stations with bus and BRT routes.

Regarding as this matter, the Municipal People’s Committee assigns the Department of Transportation to take prime responsibility and coordinate with relevant departments, sectors, agencies to urgently carry out the direction of the Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung at the above official letter; synthesize, propose and report to the Municipal People’s Committee in June, 2017.
