The anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day on October 10 is among the most important event in Vietnam’s capital city.
Hanoians and visitors will have a chance to enjoy many kinds of cultural and art activities that the local government will hold to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the capital city’s Liberation Day (October 10).
The activities will include the Hanoi Book Festival, the Hanoi Stage Festival 2018, the 2018 Hanoi Cuisine Culture Festival, etc.
The Hanoi Book Festival will take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel from October 3 to 7, gathering 200 booths from various publishing houses and book companies where books are for sale at a discount. Besides books on sale, seminars and presentations on book-reading topic will be held as part of the event.
Through the seminars, panelists and audience members will discuss copyright protection in the development of technology, reading culture, connections between readers and publishing houses and co-operation between domestic and foreign book firms. On the occasion, exchanges between authors and readers will take place. An exhibition space will showcase digital reading devices, audio books, and techniques combining print books and applications on smart devices.
In addition, the 2018 Hanoi Stage Festival will take place from October 4 to 9 with the participation of 10 art units. Meanwhile, the 2018 Hanoi Cuisine Culture Festival will take place from October 5 to 7 at the Thong Nhat park, honoring and promoting typical food of Hanoi to domestic and foreign visitors.
An exhibition on nostalgia for Hanoi’s streets will be held in the pedestrian street area near Hoan Kiem Lake on October 5. The exhibition is organized by the National Archives of Vietnam (NAV) to mark the 64th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10).
The event offers an opportunity for visitors to gain more insights into the capital city through documentary photos on Hanoi’s history, culture, planning and architecture. These documents will also help policymakers devise proper solutions to preserve traditional values and build a modern and prosperous city.
