Hanoi to hold numerous cultural programmes welcoming the 12th National Party Congress
The Hanoi Party Committee held a press conference to reveal informations on art and cultural activities to welcome the 12th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival on January 19.
The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said numerous cultural programmes will take place in the city to celebrate the 12th National Party Congress. The city will organise art performances in the evening of January 21 at the Ly Thai To park, at the front area of People's Committee of Ha Dong district, Son Tay town flower garden.
In order to celebrate the success of 12th National Party Congress, the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold an art programme in the evening of January 28 at Ly Thai To Garden.
In addition, a photo exhibition will take place from January 22-30 at the Exhibition House at No. 93 Dinh Tien Hoang street.
To create a joyful atmosphere for the entire local residents welcoming the upcoming Lunar New Year festival, the city will organise a variety of cultural activities, including the "Vietnam's New Year" programme from January 29 to February 3 at the Museum of Hanoi, 2016 Spring Newspaper festival from January 29-30 at the Vietnam-Russian Friendship Culture Palace.
At the press conference, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism To Van Dong announced that fireworks will light up the capital city’s sky on the Lunar New Year’s Eve (February 7) at 30 display venues.
Accordingly, spectators can witness high altitude fireworks from 6 venues, including Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Nguyen Hoang Ton flower garden (Tay Ho district), Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong district), My Dinh National Statium(Nam Tu Liem district), Son Tay ancient town (Son Tay town) and other low altitude fireworks shows from other venues.
The cultural and sport programmes to welcome Tet festival will also be organised from February 11-13 at 30 districts and towns of the capital of Hanoi.
On the occassion, the city will organise programmes of film screening themed "Welcome Party - Happy New Year - Happy country - Celebrate the renovated Capital" in January and February 2016 at theaters across the city.
