Hanoi to host 12nd Francophone Film Festival in Vietnam

Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to learn about the cultural diversity of Francophone countries through interesting films on diverse topics.

The Francophone Film Festival in Vietnam 2022 is set to transpire in Hanoi from March 24 to 27 to celebrate International Francophonie Day (March 20) and the official working visit to Vietnam by Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), from March 21 to 26.

The festival will provide an opportunity for Vietnamese film lovers to enjoy cinema works by the Francophone community, including the comedy ‘Emma Peeters’ (2018 by Nicole Palo), drama film ‘Fahim’ (2019 by Pierre-François Martin-Laval), ‘Frontières’ (or Borders, 2021 by Mostefa Djadjam), and the comedy ‘Tambour battant’ (or Roll the Drum, 2019 by François-Christophe Marzal), among others.

All the films will be screened in French, English and Vietnamese subtitles at the Hanoi Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio and l’Institut français de Hanoi - L’Espace.

Since 2007, the Francophone Film Festival has become an annual activity in Vietnam, introducing the cultural diversity of the Francophone community

The Francophone Film Festival 2022 is jointly organized by the International Francophone Organization (OIF), the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation in Vietnam, the francophone embassies, delegations, and organizations in Vietnam.
