Hanoi to host 3rd int’l film festival

As many as 320 films from 32 countries and territories across the world will be screened at the 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF 2014) to take place from November 23-27.

A wide range of cinematographic events including competitions, panoramic screenings, a Vietnamese film programme, a HANIFF campus, a film project market, exhibition and seminars will be held under the framework of the festival.

The jury board will present awards to the Best Feature Film, the Best Short Film, and the NETPAC (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema).

Participating movies will be screened at National Cinema Center, Kim Dong Theatre, August Cinema, CGV Vincom Centre and CGV Mipec Tower.

HANIFF 2014, co-organised by the Cinema Department of Vietnam under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, provides a golden chance for domestic and foreign filmmakers to exchange experience and introduce their outstanding works to movie lovers.

Under the themed “Cinema – integration and sustainable development”, the festival also aims to create a motivation for Vietnamese cinematography to expand their market and popularise the country’s image to the world.
