Accordingly, Hanoi will hold a series of fireworks shows at 30 venues in the capital on the upcoming traditional Vietnamese New Year's Eve.

There will be 31 fireworks shows in the capital, two of them in Hoan Kiem district in Hanoi's downtown and one in each of the remaining 29 districts and towns.

Low-altitude and aerial shows will be held at two locations by Hoan Kiem Lake, namely in front of the Hanoi Post Office and the headquarters of Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) newspaper; one in Tay Ho District, at the Lac Long Quan flower garden and the other in Nam Tu Liem District (Fl racecourse area, Phu Do Ward).

In addition, three other low-altitude and aerial shows will be launched at Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung District,  Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong District, and Son Tay Ancient Citadel in Son Tay Town.

Twenty-four low-level firework shows are expected to be held in the remaining districts and towns, including the Ngoc Khanh Lake in Ba Dinh District, Lu Temple Lake in Hoang Mai District, Hoang Cau Lake in District and Cau Giay Park in Cau Giay District, among others.

The fireworks shows are funded by private sponsors to celebrate the New Year.

The shows are aimed to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for residents, at the same time, begin a wide range of events to celebrate the country's major holidays in 2023.

The municipal People's Committee urges relevant units and localities to implement the fireworks plans, ensure traffic at fireworks sites as well as protect absolute safety for the people before and after the event.
