Hanoi's "Brilliant Thang Long 2025" event, the city's grandest celebration to welcome the Year of the Snake, will feature the largest drone display in the world, alongside airborne fireworks for the first time.

A special entertainment program to celebrate the arrival of the Lunar New Year will take place at My Dinh National Stadium Square in Hanoi in the evening of January 28.

Mai Trong Thai, Chairman of Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee, said that the "Brilliant Thang Long 2025" program is one of the biggest cultural events in the city to celebrate the Year of the Snake with a performance of over 3,000 drones lighting up the sky in a mesmerizing display.
Under the theme "A Brilliant Spring", the program will showcase inspiring stories of Hanoi's history and development through a series of performances, including live performances showcasing elements of Hanoi's rich cultural heritage. This innovative combination of drone light shows and artistic fireworks will create flashing lights, cascading waterfalls and light sprays, among other spectacular visuals. The synchronized movements of the drones paired with the fireworks are sure to create breathtaking moments for the audience.

At the stroke of midnight, the pyrotechnic drone performance will be followed by an aerial fireworks display to mark the sacred moments, the beginning of the Lunar New Year.
According to Thai, both Vietnamese and international experts have worked together to program this unique show, which will feature the largest number of pyrotechnic drones ever assembled for a performance, potentially earning Hanoi a Guinness World Record.
