The Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) for the autumn-winter season will be organised from November 1-6 at Hanoi`s Vietnam National Convention Centre for the first time after three successful seasons in HCM City, the organising board announced at the press conference in Hanoi on October 10.
The VIFW for the autumn-winter season will take place from November 1-6 at the Vietnam National Convention Centre. This will be the first time the Week is held in Hanoi after three successful seasons in HCM City, VIFW founder and President Le Thi Quynh Trang told at the press conference in Hanoi on October 10.
This year's biggest international fashion event in Vietnam will feature more than 20 shows with the participation of over 20 domestic and foreign designers, along with hundreds of professional models.
The most unique and impressive collections will be on show at the VIFW in Hanoi next month, promising a turning point for the local fashion market by the year’s end.
Ngoc Chau, the winner of Vietnam’s Next Top Model (season 7), will be the first model to perform at the VIFW.
The three-year-old VIFW is also expected to see the return of top Vietnamese designers such as Cong Tri, Phuong My, Thuy Nguyen, Le Thanh Hoa and Adrian Anh Tuan, along with such brands as Canifa, Luala and PNJ, who used to attend the previous seasons, according the organising board.
VIFW President Le Thi Quynh Trang highlighted the “See now buy now” programme, which will provide spectators a chance to own their favourite designs after each show. Designs will be displayed at Trang Tien Plaza so that the public can have a closer look on them.
The VIFW will be held for the spring-summer season in HCM City and the autumn-winter season in Hanoi every year from 2016. It aims to not only introduce outstanding collections but also open up development opportunities for Vietnamese designers and fashion brands, she added.
The event is hoped to be very exciting with a variety of fashion workshops and shows held by Hanoi trade, investment and tourism promotion centre.
The Week also brings the world’s fashion closer to Vietnamese audiences via introducing the collections of Japanese wedding-dress queen Yumi Katsura, Song Zio from the Republic of Korea, Italian Renato Balestra and French designer Julien Fournie.
In 2015, the VIFW welcomed the presence of Japanese legendary designer Kenzo Takada and American top model Sessilee Lopez.
