Hanoi to host year-end trade fair spotlighting craft village and OCOP products

As year-end demand rises, Hanoi turns craft villages and OCOP products into a key consumer draw, using a large-scale trade fair to connect local producers with urban shoppers.

THE HANOI TIMES — A trade promotion fair for local handicrafts and OCOP products will take place this week in Hanoi’s Duong Noi Ward and Binh Minh Commune, offering a dynamic year-end shopping and cultural destination for residents and visitors.

The fair runs from December 25-28 at Duong Noi Ward’s ParkCity Urban Area and Binh Minh Commune’s Southern Hanoi Wholesale Market.

Visitors can explore a wide selection of regional specialties from across Vietnam, along with cultural and tourism products that highlight the diversity and richness of local identities.

Organized by the Hanoi Industry and Trade Promotion Center (IDC Hanoi), the event showcases Vietnamese-made products, stimulates domestic consumption and supports market stability toward the year’s end.

This year’s fair features about 300 booths, with dedicated spaces for product displays, live demonstrations, hands-on experiences, culinary showcases, business networking and digital applications.

More than 120 participants have joined the event, including manufacturing enterprises, cooperatives, traditional craft villages, industry associations and representatives from provinces and cities nationwide.

Products on display span a broad range of sectors, from regional specialties and OCOP items to traditional craft village goods.

In the food, agricultural and OCOP segment, notable participants include Halicophar International Pharmaceutical JSC, presenting bird’s nest and cordyceps products and An Gia Food Trading JSC, offering traditional candied fruits and preserved specialties.

High-quality glass noodles, confectionery and processed agricultural products from Hanoi, Son La, Phu Tho and Thanh Hoa also feature prominently.

The fair highlights cooperatives and producers supplying processed foods, beverages and safe agricultural products such as yogurt, pasteurized fresh milk, dragon fruit noodles, beef sausage and salt-baked chicken, adding depth to the year-end consumer market.

A major attraction is the craft village and handicrafts area, which displays traditional folk toys, fine woodwork, decorative panels, calligraphy couplets, paintings, cabinets, textiles, bedding and handmade patchwork bags. These items reflect creativity and the enduring cultural values of Vietnam’s craft villages.

According to organizers, the fair promotes Vietnamese specialty, craft village and OCOP products while strengthening links between producers and distributors in Hanoi.

The event has become a popular and much-anticipated year-end destination for consumers seeking high-quality, locally made goods and authentic cultural experiences.
