Digital platforms team up to boost Vietnamese goods online

Vietnam’s leading e-commerce platforms have joined forces to launch large-scale digital promotions aimed at widening market access and accelerating online consumption of Vietnamese-made goods.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam’s major e-commerce platforms and digital marketplaces, including Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada, Sendo Farm, SYS and Dake, have launched coordinated promotional programs to stimulate demand for Vietnamese products.

The programs focus on supporting local businesses through online marketing, livestream sales, promotional tools, on-site showcases and traffic-boosting solutions to help products reach wider consumer audiences nationwide.

The coordination was announced on December 19 at a supply–demand connectivity conference, jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade on the sidelines of the 2025 Vietnam Brand Week and the “Made in Vietnam” Fair.

At the conference, representatives from e-commerce platforms and digital service providers shared practical strategies to help local enterprises improve online sales performance, covering content creation, livestream commerce, data-driven marketing and logistics integration.

Lai Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said many local businesses and cooperatives still face challenges in building effective online sales channels.

"Limited digital skills, weak market insights and unfamiliarity with platform-based sales models continue to hinder small producers," said Anh.

The five-day “Made in Vietnam” Fair, runs through December 22, aims to improve market access for Vietnamese goods by linking producers, distributors and digital platforms amid intensifying competition in online retail.

The fair features about 300 booths and brings together nearly 100 enterprises, cooperatives and industry associations from more than 10 provinces and cities, showcasing their products and running livestream sales and promotional activities.

Nguyen The Hiep, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said Hanoi has emerged as one of the country’s leading localities in supporting businesses to adopt e-commerce and promote local products through digital channels.

This year, Hanoi has organized and co-organized more than 40 trade and industry events, helping expand market access for Vietnamese products, regional specialties and local brands across the country.

He said the fair is expected to help enterprises and cooperatives gain direct access to Hanoi’s consumer market of more than 10.7 million people, supported by a modern and well-developed commercial infrastructure.

"Hanoi will continue to work closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to refine support policies, connect digital transformation with modern distribution channels and create strong momentum for Hanoi-based enterprises to expand their presence and competitiveness on digital platforms," said Hiep.
