Hanoi rural industry fair showcases signature products and boosts trade connections

Hanoi’s Rural Industrial Goods Fair 2025 gathers 200 booths to promote rural industries, strengthen trade links and support local enterprises with product promotion and market access.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Hanoi Rural Industrial Products Fair 2025 is taking place in Trung Gia Commune with 200 standard booths from rural industrial producers across the city, along with a display zone featuring Hanoi’s outstanding rural industrial products for 2025.

The event also brings together industry associations, enterprises and rural manufacturers from other provinces and cities, creating a lively and dynamic trading space.

Running until November 30, the fair is expected to serve as an effective bridge to introduce rural industrial products and the capital’s cultural identity to consumers nationwide, stimulate demand and strengthen the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.

Opening the ceremony, Nguyen The Hiep, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said Hanoi has long given consistent and meaningful attention to the development of rural industry.

He noted that rural industry reflects the cultural identity of the capital while playing a vital role in economic restructuring, job creation, income growth and improving the living standards of rural residents.

Hiep said the city’s strategies have been implemented in practice through industrial promotion programs that support machinery upgrades, production capacity improvement, human-resource training, product design, brand building, trade promotion and market expansion for craft villages, OCOP products and outstanding rural industrial goods.

According to the deputy director, Hanoi’s rural industry has made steady progress, with many products reaching international markets and affirming the quality, cultural value and competitiveness of businesses, artisans and traditional craft villages.

He said this achievement is a source of pride and a responsibility for the capital’s industry and trade sector.

“The fair is a bridge bringing the cultural and economic essence of Hanoi’s rural areas closer to consumers, visitors and partners at home and abroad,” Hiep emphasized.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Trung Gia Commune People’s Committee, said the commune is home to 461 enterprises, 17 cooperatives and more than 4,000 household businesses operating across diverse sectors, especially agricultural processing, farming and ornamental plant production.

She said the fair marks an important milestone in building a dynamic and creative grassroots administration that supports both residents and businesses.

This year’s fair aims to support local rural industrial enterprises in Trung Gia and neighboring areas, while promoting trade across the city. It highlights and sells outstanding rural industrial products, OCOP items, handicrafts and craft-village specialties.

The fair also helps rural industrial producers expand business networks, strengthen production and processing links and distribute high-quality goods through sustainable production and consumption chains.

It encourages product design and packaging improvements to align with market trends.

As an effective trade bridge, the fair contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods and supports rural businesses in recovery and sustainable growth.

It offers significant opportunities for product promotion and trade expansion, contributing to local industrial and commercial development.

Participating in the fair, Bui Tien Nam, Representative of Khanh Tho Production–Trading–Service Company from Haiphong, said the company supplies many traditional specialties, with its core products certified as 4-star OCOP items made with high-quality ingredients.

He said the company joins fairs mainly to connect with new distributors and agents. Such events are effective for trade promotion because they allow the company to cook samples for visitors to taste and experience product quality directly.
