Hanoi to implement key tasks for state management and tourism development

The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued No. Announcement 221/TB-VP, stating conclusion of Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy at the meeting to report state management, tourism development in the past nine months and key tasks for the next months of 2017.




 

Under the Announcement, for the last quarter of the year, Department of Tourism shall review targets and missions for 2017, increase effort to complete them, timely report to the Municipal People’s Committee, and ask for instruction to handle issues beyond its authority. It is also responsible for cooperating with Authority of Plan and Investment and relevant units to prepare development planning to 2025, orientation to 2030 on making Ba Vi-Suoi Hai a national tourist attraction with investment of the private sector.

The Hanoi planning on tourism development to 2020, orientation to 2030 shall not be amended in 2017 yet. Department of Tourism shall coordinate with Authority of Plan and Investment to propose further activities according to decree on guiding Law on Tourism 2017, and report to the Hanoi People’s Committee.

For the detailed planning scheme on preserving, developing traditional craft villages in association with tourism in Bat Trang Pottery Village and Van Phuc Silk Village, the Department in cooperation with Authority of Plan and Investment implement decision of the Hanoi People’s Committee on approving the planning scheme.  



 

For state management, priority should be given to promoting administration reform, increasing the application of information technology and cooperation for tourism environment management.

The Department of Tourism in coordination with Department of Information and Communications and Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) prepare plan and submit it to the People’s Committee, focusing on building smart tourism system for the period of 2017 to 2020 and developing information technology for further application in tourism development.

The Department shall further implement cooperation program with CNN in the 2017-2018 period to promote image of Hanoi on the channel, prepare conditions for the 16th meeting of Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia (CPTA) in the capital city after receiving instruction of standing members of the Hanoi Party Committee and plan of the Hanoi People’s Committee, and complete the pilot project on Hanoi tourism logo, signboard and souvenir within 2017. It shall review cooperation programs on tourism development between the capital city with other localities nationwide, and increase effort to carry out them efficiently.
