A wide range of fairs and festivals will be held to boost the city’s tourism industry.
The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued a plan to organize programs promoting itself as a cultural and tourist destination in 2020 with the aim of luring more domestic tourists to the capital city.

The plan will be jointly deployed by the Department of Culture and Sports, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of the city and related units and Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
On June 26-28, at the Ly Thai To flower garden and the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, a tourist promotion event will be held in collaboration with other provinces.
The programs include 50 booths of tour operators, hotels, airlines, travel associations in Hanoi, which will introduce and sell Hanoi’s tourism products and tour packages in collaboration with other provinces.
On the same days, a non-alcoholic drinks fair will be held around the Octagonal House. Some 30 booths from coffee shops around Hanoi will display West Lake lotus tea, Giang cafe, Trang Tien ice cream, tea with longan and lotus seed, and To Tich fresh mixed fruit.
The fair will be further enlivened with a street culture festival entitled “Hanoi – a green destination” with arts and cultural activities held at the same time.
At a monthly meeting of the city People’s Committee on May 29, Hanoi’s Department of Tourism was requested to urgently develop an overall plan to stimulate domestic travel, taking advantage of the initial containment of the Covid-19 pandemic to revive the tourism industry, with the focus on street cultural activities and promotional events hosted together with other provinces and cities nationwide.
