Hanoi upholds great national unity bloc

The celebration of Great National Unity Day 2024 aims to strengthen, consolidate, and promote the power of the great national unity bloc.

Upholding the great national unity bloc is a key solution to leading the nation into a new era, said Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member and Chairman of the Central Theory Council, at a recent meeting discussing Hanoi's plans for a major celebration of the national unity bloc.

"Being an expression of cultural beauty, the National Day of Great Unity [November 18] at the community level has become a cultural tradition that provides an opportunity for all people to further promote the spirit of solidarity, patriotism and unity in building a prosperous and civilized homeland and nation," Thang said.

He stressed that to maintain the great bloc of national unity, the Hanoi Party Committee on November 11 issued an Official Dispatch on celebrating the Great National Unity Day 2024 to mark the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front's establishment (November 18, 1930 - 2024).

"The cultural life of the people has been preserved and promoted, defense and security have been ensured, political stability has been maintained, and national solidarity has been strengthened," the official said.

Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, said that the celebration of the Great National Unity Day 2024 aims to build, consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, educate the tradition of patriotism, strengthen social consensus, and make a great contribution to the construction and development of the capital and the country.

"The Hanoi Party Committee has asked all localities to notify all Party members and civil servants to attend the Great National Unity Day to grasp the situation, encourage and motivate the people in the area," Phong said.

He added that the Hanoi People's Committee has instructed the People's Committees of the city's districts to coordinate with the committees of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front to prepare for the successful celebration of the Great National Reunification Day, and asked the heads of departments and sectors to participate in the activities together with the people.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi has given directives to the committees of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front at all levels to continue to innovate in holding the Great National Reunification Day in 2024 in the direction of improving quality, ensuring practicality and suitability to the actual conditions of each locality.
