The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued an agenda to mark the 42nd anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30), 131st anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1), 63rd anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7) and 127th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19).
This is the opportunity to educate national tradition of revolution, culture and heroism of the country and the capital city, create significant progress in labor and production in all fields, and realize socio-economic development targets in 2017.
Through popularization and education activities, the city expects to continue traditional patriotism, express gratitude towards previous generations for their contribution and sacrifice for freedom and independence, assert the role and significance of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the liberation of the South of Vietnam and national reunification in the history of national construction and defense, and honor the spirit of patriotism, sense of independence, self-reliance and aspiration for peace.
Furthermore, it aims to create festival atmosphere, inspire people’s pride and faith, and encourage them to continue effort for the reform. The popularization and education focuses on patriotism, tradition of revolutionary, culture and heroism of the Party and the people, highlights the national pride and aspiration for peace, while expressing deep gratitude towards previous generations for their contribution to the country’s independence and freedom. It also asserts significances of the Reunification Day in the national liberation, construction and protection, and introduces the Hanoi culture to international friends.
Various activities at city level will be organized to mark the 42nd anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30) and 131st anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1). Music performance programs will be held in Ly Thai To Flower Garden and Hanoi Opera House, along with music performances in Ha Dong district, Son Tay town and My Dinh area.
Art and fashion performances themed Hanoi Flavor will be organized around Hoan Kiem Lake; photo exhibition will take place in Hoa Lo Prison and Ly Thai To Flower Park, along with movie screening. For districts, suburban districts and towns, outdoor performances of culture and art will be offered.
In celebration of 63rd anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and 127th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, culture, art and sport performances at city level will be organized in districts, suburban districts and towns of Hanoi.
A culture and sport performance program will be held in city center to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, along with mobile popularization and movie screening. Outdoor performances of culture and art at district level will be offered in districts and suburban districts.
