Hanoi-Vientiane trade and investment conference to take place on August 10

The conference underlines the unique and significant friendship between Vietnam and Laos, as well as the long-standing Hanoi-Vientiane relations.

The municipal People’s Committee issued plan No.207 on the plan to hold the event on the occasion of Vietnam-Laos 2022 Solidarity Year, which is aimed at providing information on socio-economic development, potential, and investment policies from the two cities, along with a trade fair to introduce products and services.

“The conference underlines the unique and significant friendship between Vietnam and Laos, as well as the long-standing Hanoi-Vientiane relations. In addition, this would strengthen the close ties between two Parties, two countries, and peoples,” stated the plan.

Director of the Hanoi Promotion Agency Nguyen Anh Duong said over 60 companies operating in the fields of trade, retail, real estate, and tourism in Hanoi would take part in the event to seek business opportunities with their Laos partners.

In addition, 40 Lao companies in the fields of agriculture, car parts, handicraft, consumer services, and garments are expected to join the event.

During a visit of the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung to Vientiane in April, leaders from the two cities signed a memorandum of agreement for the 2022-2025 period, which would lay the foundation for future cooperation.

In the next five years, Hanoi and Vientiane would continue to promote high-level delegations exchange and share experiences in developing e-Government, urban planning and management, and people-to-people links for greater mutual understanding in all fields.
