Moscow`s smart transport model is highly valued in the world.
At the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Hanoi and Moscow for the period of 2019-2021, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung asked Moscow's authorities to share experiences and transfer technology in smart city development with Hanoi.
The signing ceremony between the Chairman Chung and the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin took place within the framework of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to the Russian Federation.
The MoU aims to identify and implement cooperation programs between the two cities with specific cooperation projects in the coming period.
Hanoi's mayor appreciated Moscow's socio-economic achievements, especially in the fields of urban management and embellishment, infrastructure investment, which contributed to giving Vietnam's capital city a modern facelift. Moscow's smart transport model is highly valued in the world, he said.
Chung hoped that in the time ahead, the two parties will work closely to implement specific cooperation programs in order to more effectively exploit potential and strengths of the two capitals. The two sides will jointly organize trade and tourism and investment promotion programs, Chung added.
He also suggested Moscow city speed up the establishment of the Moscow House in Hanoi. Hanoi is willing to spare a land plot in a good location and will create the most favorable conditions for Moscow to implement the project, he affirmed.
For his part, Moscow's Mayor Sergey Sobyanin appreciated the development of good relationship and friendship between the two capital cities.
He affirmed that Moscow city is willing to cooperate and share with Hanoi the world's most advanced technologies and achievements in the fields of smart city and e-government, high-tech healthcare, education and training, tourism, among others.
The mayor said that Moscow city is willing to provide training programs and materials, as well as send experts to help Hanoi develop its smart traffic management program.
