Hanoi: Work starts on the Asia's largest exhibition and fair centre

On October 8, Hanoi People`s Committee and the VinGroup co-organized the Groundbreaking Ceremony on the Asia`s largest exhibition and fair centre in Dong Anh District.
Attending the Ceremony, there were Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Member of the Politburo and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; Minister cum Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha; Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, and many leaders of ministries, agencies.
Project groundbreaking ceremony is one of the activities to celebrate the 62th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2016) and the 140th establishment anniversary of Dong Anh District (1876-2016).
The centre, which replaces the Giang Vo exhibition and fair centre in the downtown district of Ba Dinh, is expected to be the largest of its kind in Asia. Covering over 90ha in Co Loa, Mai Lam and Dong Hoi communes, it will include inside and outside exhibition areas, a trade promotion centre, a conference centre and other support areas. Its construction is scheduled to complete in the fourth quarter of 2018. As one of the 10 key projects in the capital region planning, the centre will act as a driving force for the development of provinces north of the Red River.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, Hanoi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung thanked the attention of the Central Committee, the coordination of the ministries and agencies for project implementation of the Center in the Capital in particular, and the Region in general. He believes that the project after completion will be an international project, to meet the demand for exhibition events at home and abroad, creating a strong development momentum to help change the face of the north region of the Red River, promote the Capital's growth and sustainable development. Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung also suggested that the ministries and departments of the Central are interested in cooperation with departments of Hanoi, focusing the project, completinh on schedule, striving to bring works into use in the fourth quarter of 2018.
