Along with the capital city, some provinces have also joined the promotion program to encourage Hanoians to travel.
Hanoi’s tourism industry has continued to support revival of local enterprises through a series of activities, including the annual program “Tourism Promotion Day”, according to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA) Bui Duy Quang.

Vietravel, one of Vietnam’s leading travel businesses, has offered a 40% discount for tour packages, combo “flight ticket + 4-5-star hotel rooms”, yacht tours, and new excursions. In particular, the tour operator has also introduced special tours to Vietnam’s northwest region and Con Dao island.
Meanwhile, Hanoitourist, a member of Hanoi Tourism Corporation, has launched trips to more than 30 destinations and offered discounts of up to 40% for around 2,000 tour packages, and some of the promotions are valid until May 31, 2021.
Local air carriers also present attractive incentives on this occasion. Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines will offer 3,200 discount codes of up to 40% when customers book tickets on their websites and applications.
Along with Hanoi, the program draws the participation of some provinces such as Ha Giang, Bac Kan and Khanh Hoa. Ten tour operators, hotel and entertainment service businesses from Khanh Hoa province have offered dozens of tours with discounts from 30% to 50% to customers from Hanoi.
Cooperation between local enterprises
The “Tourism Promotion Day” program is expected to facilitate cooperation among local enterprises in the fields of tourism, hotels, aviation and banking to stimulate demand in the last months of 2020.
In order to enhance cashless payments in travel activities, in addition to reducing tour prices, Hanoitourist has cooperated with banks to create an app for customers to register and make payments for tourist services, Deputy Director of Hanoitourist Travel Company Le Hong Thai told Kinh the & Do thi, adding that by installing the app, customers can enjoy more promotion programs from banks.
Sharing about the benefits when local consumers make payments via bank cards, Vietinbank’s Director Hoang Mai Do Thi Bich Mai said that the bank will offer a 15% discount when customers pay via wire transfer as it is cooperating with more than 200 businesses operating in tourist destinations and airline ticket agents.
“Tourism Promotion Day” not only stimulates demand in post-Covid-19 but is also an activity to avoid the race to the bottom among local businesses, said a tour operator executive.
