Hanoi's liberation anniversary: Golden opportunity for tourism development

All the activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day will be carried out in an initiative and creative manner.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day [October 10, 1954-2024], many events and cultural and sports activities will be organized throughout the city and the country.

Thanh appreciated the determination and initiative of all districts in the city. The Mayor urged departments and units to continue to be proactive and make every effort to complete all tasks and ensure the progress of the commemoration plan.

Chairman Thanh has asked the Ministry of Finance to draw up a financing plan for the commemoration activities, fireworks and a special light art program on the evening of October 10.

He also asked for greater media coverage of the activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital.

According to Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the commemoration plan has been sent to 30 districts, Party organizations and departments in the city.

The department has sent survey teams to the northern province of Dien Bien for the art program "Hanoi Days in Dien Bien."  

It has also held meetings with district administrations and departments to inform them of activities and overcome difficulties in carrying out tasks related to the commemoration, including building and repairing houses for the poor, inaugurating works to mark the anniversary and giving guidance on visual promotional decorations.

The department has planned five art programs: Hanoi - Dien Bien, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Special Art Program for the National Day, Music Program for the 70th Anniversary and Cultural Festival for Peace on this occasion.

The department has sent out invitations to provinces and cities nationwide to participate in events organized by the Hanoi government, such as the "Sounds of Hanoi" song composition contest, the "Hanoi Capital, New Stature, New Position" art photo contest, the "Hanoi - 70 Years of Construction and Development" literary composition contest, the 70th anniversary logo creation contest, the "Hanoimoi for Peace" running race, the Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Swimming Tournament, among others.
