Hanoi’s relics admired by international friends

One of Hanoi`s strengths is its peaceful environment and a variety of cultural heritages.

During the second US – North Korea summit, Hanoi’s relics attracted over 3,000 local and foreign reporters and hundreds of major media outlets all over the world.

Beautiful scenery for taking photos and filming

According to the media department of Hoa Lo Prison, on February 26 and 27, the relics received hundreds of reporters from CNN, Fox News, BCS News, Korean TV, MBC News who came to the war time penitentiary to shoot photos and film.

The BCS News team chose Hoa Lo vestige gate as a backdrop to film the atmosphere of Hanoi on the summit days.

Fox News paid much attention to the contents displayed in Hoa Lo Prison, with re-enacted scenes of French colonialist detention facilities and their cruel treatment to Vietnamese revolutionaries, or the thematic exhibition "Rediscovering memories" at the relics.

Hoa Lo relics send visitors precious messages about peace. During the second US-North Korea summit, security for visitors at the monument was strengthened. However, reporters working at the relics were facilitated the best conditions. The management hoped that the relic will become better known to the world and more visitors will come after this event.

In the days of the summit, the Temple of Literature welcomed FOX News’s crew, who came to Hanoi to report the summit and the current situation of Vietnam.

Ngoc Son Temple was also a favorite shooting location of international journalists. Head of Hanoi Relics Management Board Nguyen Doan Van said reporters with summit credentials were facilitated to visit and explore Ngoc Son Temple.

Appointment for return

One of Hanoi's strengths is its peaceful environment and a variety of cultural heritages. Therefore, most international reporters missed no opportunity to film, report, especially making standups outdoors. Many news studios were set up on the roofs of tall buildings with the Hanoi’s iconic scenes as background.

Hanoi’s tourism authorities also believe that after the second US-North Korea summit, the number of tourists to Hanoi is expected to rise and it will give many opportunities for Vietnamese travel companies to promote cooperation with the US and North Korean partners.

With an effort to organize carefully and thoughtfully international events, Hanoi is proving not only a safe and reliable destination but also an attractive appointment for international friends.
