A Singaporean enterprise offered to install free wireless internet (WiFi) throughout HCM City to serve tourists and local residents, according to Deputy Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen.
At a recent meeting between HCM City People's Committee and the municipal Department of Tourism, Deputy Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said a Singaporean company had offered to install free WiFi for the city.
The service also helps HCM City in builing e-government that the locality's authority has been implementing in the recent time, Tuyen added.
He noted that the installing of free WiFi throughout the city will definitely help promote communication and create more attractions for local tourism.
Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Van Thi Bach Tuyet said if HCM City provides free WiFi, it would bring many conveniences for tourists.
The quality of WiFi must be ensured, particularly the speed, she said.
In Vietnam, many large cities have provided free WiFi for tourists and local residents.
