Saigonese will have a chance to enjoy many kinds of activities in Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival from February 2 to 8, 2019.
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has approved a plan for open Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival to serve the people from December 28 of the lunar calendar to the fourth day of Lunar New Year, which falls on February 2 to 8, 2019.
The opening ceremony of the 2018 Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival is scheduled to take place on the evening of Saturday February 2, 2019. Accordingly, cars' circulation on Nguyen Hue street (near Ton Duc Thang road) direction will be halted for the installation of Nguyen Hue Flower Street from 7 am January 18 to 6 pm February 2.
In addition, vehicles of all kinds, including motorbikes, are banned during the opening time of the flower street from 5:00 to 10:00 pm on February 2 for the opening ceremony.
The Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival will feature a flower arrangement art exhibition, not only flowers, but vegetables and LED lights will also be used to decorate the streets.
Since its debut in 2004, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has become one of the annual highlight events in Ho Chi Minh City, the nation’s largest economic hub, on every Lunar New Year occasion and contributed to fueling the city’s tourism growth.
Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival welcomed more than one million visitors during the seven-day Lunar New Year 2018 holiday, according to Saigontourist, the regular flower street organizer.
Ho Chi Minh City received more than 3.8 million foreign visitors in the first six months of 2018, a 26.5% higher than in the same period last year, and reached 51% of this year’s target, according to Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.
Ho Chi Minh City hopes to receive 7.5 million foreign visitors in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 25%.
