The Capital city of Ha Noi ranked 8th place in the list of Top 10 best worldwide destinations for travelers, according to TripAdvisor.
The popular online travel directory and booking site examined millions of travelers’ reviews to come up with the top worldwide travel destinations for the year.
Hanoi was selected as the top Southeast Asian destination followed by Siem Reap of Cambodia, and Shanghai of China.
Rounding out the top 10 choices are Istanbul of Turkey, Rome of Italy, London of the United Kingdom, Beijing of China, Prague of the Czech Republic, Marrakech of Morocco.
According to a post on its website, Ha Noi is described as a charming city, with a well preserved Old Quarter, monuments and colonial architecture, while making room for modern developments alongside, which hasn’t forgotten its past, as sites such as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison attest.
Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city, which is easily explored by taxi.
