Vietnamese singer Ho Quynh Huong was named – Asian Artist of the Year in Vietnam – on December 3 at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).
Huong was unable to attend the award ceremony in Hong Kong but sent a video message saying that “It was her great honour to be awarded such a wonderful spiritual gift this year”.
Previously, Vietnamese artists My Tam and Thu Minh have also been recipients of the coveted honour.
Other artists who were honoured at the event included Japan’s Ieiri Leo, Singapore’s JJ LIN, Indonesia’s Raisa, and Thailand’s Thaitanium.
The MAMAs, first held in 1999, has steadily grown and evolved to become Korea's representative music awards.
