"Honoring good people and good acts and elite citizens of the City" in 2016
On the 62th anniversary of the Capital`s liberation, on October 10, Hanoi City solemnly organized the workshop "Honoring good people and good acts and elite citizens of the City" in 2016.
Attending the event, there were the City's Party Committee's Secretary Hoang Trung Hai; Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the City People's Committee and Chairman of the City's Emulation and Reward Council Nguyen Duc Chung; the City's Party Committee's Deputy Secretary Dao Duc Toan; Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Head of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Tran Thi Ha; Chairman of Hanoi City's Fatherland Front Vu Hong Khanh; Vice Chairman of the City's Standing People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, etc. Especially, the workshop was attended by 9 "elite citizens of the City" and 961 typical samples of "good people and good acts" of Hanoi in 2016.
Spread of simple samples
After 35 years of being the Party Cell with 17 constant years of being both the Residential Group's Leader and over 10 years of implementing the agricultural extension activities, Ms. Ta Thi Ngoc Thanh - Vice Chairperson of the Learning Extension Society of Dich Vong Hau Ward (Cau Giay District) always thinks that whether being at any position, she must be exemplary. Everyday, when seeing garbage on the lane or on the road, she cleans it because "for just a stuff, if we do not handle it well, there will be conflict in the community”. The act of Ms. Thanh has influence on the surrounding people and they also collect garbage whenever seeing them on the road. Especially, the support to poor children with difficult situation has been silently pursued by Ms. Thanh for many years, with the thinking "I must repay to life”. Her mother died when she was 2.5 years old while her father died when she was 11 years old. She grew up in an orphanage and was brought up by mother here. Along with the encouragement of her mothers here, she constantly tried and became the Vice Head of Kindergarten Research Committee (Ministry of Education and Training) and later as a grace, she was assigned to be the first Director of SOS Children's Village of Hanoi City and retired in 1997. "I would like to do these jobs until I die and also register to offer my corneal to blinded poor children after I die. The happiness of social workers in locality is not too complicated. When only by being assigned by the Party and being trusted and supported by the people, we will feel very satisfied” - Ms. Thanh said in tears.
An officer who actively participates in the social activities like Ms. Thanh is one in 1,000 typical advanced samples of the City honored at this workshop.
Many individuals have been implementing simple and silent tasks, but have become the core and motivation to boost the emulation in the whole city. For example, veteran Nguyen Huu Loc who is known by people in Thach Da Commune (Me Linh District as a typical sample of the emulation “People join hand to build the advanced rural areas" who has mobilized his family to dedicate over 100m2 to be inter-hamlet road. He thinks that by reducing a little of his family's land, they and their neighbors will be able to go a cleaner and more beautiful road.
It is Ms. Do Thuy Ha, Chairperson of Dong Da District's Blinds. Despite being visual-impaired, she was the only winner and was one of the 7 representatives from 7 Asia-Pacific countries receiving Duskin scholarship to study in Japan. She also actively teaches Braille and Japanese for disabled people and helps they feel confident to earn a living, live meaningfully and integrate into the community, etc.
Build the stuff for the youth
At the workshop, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung asserted: Despite having not been satisfied, every year, the Capital's people in particular and the people in the whole country in general and international friends feel that the City is "changing" day by day, with high scale, more beautiful and brighter future.
Those achievements are thanks to the sound leading of the Party, the support from ministries and branches, people and soldiers in the whole country and the Capital City to create an internal force and decide all the success in the construction and protection of the Capital.
The patriot movements, typically "Good people and good acts", are the vivid image of the sentiment, responsibility, stuff and talent of Hanoians.
“The figure of over 23,000 “Good people and good acts” honored by the City and over 300,000 “Good people and good acts" rewarded by urban districts, districts, towns and units under the city over the past 24 years of implementation have made contribution to a civilized city and nurture the noble hearts and the young generation with the stuff of a hero Capital City - the Chairman stressed.
To better promote the patriot movement and evoke the efforts of all levels, branches and people in the City to overcome difficulties and strive for best completing the socio-economic tasks, Chairman of the People's Committee and Chairman of the Emulation Committee Nguyen Duc Chung officially ignite the peak emulation from date to the end of 2016 and the emulation "Good people, good acts" for 2017.
In which, they require: All levels and branches need to promote the emulation movement and strive for best completing the targets and tasks for the remaining 2016 and for 2017 as a whole and attaching the emulation "Good people, good acts" with the emulation on developing the economy, society and maintain the national defense and security, plan the urban areas and rural areas, develop a civilized lifestyle and strive for building the parties, authorities and social unions transparently and strongly, etc.
According to the Chairman of the City People's Committee, to have a sustainable Hanoi today and tomorrow with the thousand-year historical and cultural value, each Hanoian needs to continue to develop their talent and renovate their thinking, lifestyle in every word and action. 7.5 million of the City's people in general and tens of thousand of "good people, good acts" honored by the City over the past years determine and unify to make more active contributions to the locality, units and build the City more and more civilized and modern.
