Hungary willing to help Hanoi solve sewage

On 20 April, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung meet Ory Csaba – Hungarian Ambassador in Vietnam and Tombor Balint – Chief Politic Consultant of Minister and Chief Negotiator on Preferential Credit (ODA) – Hungary Foreign Affair and Economy Minister (ODA Chief Consultant).


At the meeting, the Hungarian Ambassador and ODA Chief Consultant revealed, in June 2017, preferential credit package of 440m Euro according to Hungary-Vietnam government cooperation Agreement officially comes into force.

With those package, Hungary government’s about to invest strongly on Clean water (build surface water factories), sewage disposal, IT development for resident and health service data. Therefore, Hungary wants Hanoi to introduce investment demand in specific fields, as background for Hungary carries out 440m Euro package effectively. The credit package comes into force this year, when Hungary Prime Minister pays a visit to Vietnam in autumn.
Thank the concern of Hungary government, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said, of 4 above issues, Hanoi has called for socialization (attract investment from private business). Until now there are 3 investors, starting to build 2 Hong river surface water factories (worth 220m USD), capacity of 300.000 m3/day, and Duong river surface water factory(230m USD), to complete in first and second quarter of 2019, as expected.  Once come into operation, those factories enhance clean water supply to meet the basic demand of resident. About resident data, Hanoi currently ensure 100% village, ward, town to apply IT in People health service; public service and establish digital student report. 
Agreed with proposal of Hungary ODA chief consultant, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung require Hungary to focus on sewage treatment; as well as deepen culture exchange activities. Hungary art group would come to Hanoi and perform in walking street space around Sword Lake, Mr. Chung suggests.
Agreed with Mr Chung suggestions’, Ambassador Tombor Bálint gave those task to Commercial Chargé d'affaires in Hungary Embassy who would cooperate with Hanoi related bodies to carry out cultural exchange activities in Hanoi on November, 2017.
