Following the directions of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on allowing foreigners to work in Vietnam for a short time, the ministry has issued a medical guide on the matter.
Accordingly, the visiting foreigners are required to take preventive measures such as wearing a face mask, washing hand with sanitizer, and keeping a safe distance to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
The ministry has recommended ministries, ministerial-level agencies, governmental agencies and local People's Committees implement the Medical Guidance on Disease Prevention and Control for short-stay foreigners (less than 14 days).
The agencies also need to examine, monitor and evaluate the implementation of anti-Covid-19 measures during the period of their stay in Vietnam and report implementation results to the Ministry of Health.
The country will start charging all arrivals for their mandatory quarantine starting from September, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated during a meeting on novel coronavirus prevention and control on August 30.
PM Phuc agreed to allow senior personnel of South Korean enterprises on short visits to enter Vietnam without undergoing quarantine. He also urged the early reopening of commercial flights between Vietnam and South Korea, Japan, and areas where the pandemic has been properly controlled.
The country will prioritize arranging flights for Vietnamese laborers to travel to South Korea and Japan for work.
Earlier, all Vietnamese nationals and foreigners entering Vietnam are required to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine from March 18. Foreigners who are experts, business executives, high-tech experts bearing papers certifying they are negative for Covid-19 issued by competent authorities of the country of origin and approved by Vietnam will be allowed entry and must be strictly isolated.
