Industrial parks and economic zones nationwide attract 270 projects in Q1
The Department for Economic Zones Management said in the first quarter of this year, industrial parks and economic zones in the country drew 270 projects with total registered capital of 292 million USD.

According to the Department for Economic Zones Management, in the reviewed time, Vietnam opened 305 industrial parks covering over 84,000 hectares and 16 economic zones with the area of 814,792 hectares of water and land.
Some key projects registered in the period included: DaYang Paper Mill Limited Company in Long Jiang Industrial Park (220 million USD); Singapore's Maple Co’s garment factory in Bac Ninh’s Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (110 million USD) and New Wing Interconnect Technology’s audiophones plant in Bac Giang province (100 million USD).
The Department for Economic Zones Management said in the first quarter of this year, industrial parks and economic zones in the country drew 270 projects with total registered capital of 292 million USD.
Most of the projects focus on luxury garment production and support industries for the textiles and engineering sectors.
HCM City and Dong Nai Province led the country attracting foreign investment.
As of the end of March, industrial and economic zones nationwide drew 6,608 projects with the total registered foreign capital of 145.5 billion USD, the Economic Zones Management Department said.
Besides, domestic investors operated 6,592 projects in the entire country, reaching registered capital of 1.17 trillion VND.
At present, some 214 industrial zones have been operational with a total land area of nearly 60,000ha and 91 industrial parks have been developed with total natural land area of more than 24,000ha.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment issued investment registration certificates for over 160 foreign investment projects with total registered investment capital worth over 2 billion USD in the first months of 2016.
The ministry also granted permission for 125 existing foreign projects to add their investment worth 500 million USD.
Some key projects registered in the period included: DaYang Paper Mill Limited Company in Long Jiang Industrial Park (220 million USD); Singapore's Maple Co’s garment factory in Bac Ninh’s Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (110 million USD) and New Wing Interconnect Technology’s audiophones plant in Bac Giang province (100 million USD).
